D'Monroe

D’Monroe is an actor, singer, songwriter, music producer, and director from Baltimore, Maryland. He graduated from Hampton University with a degree in Sociology — though he took so many music and theater classes that most assumed one of those must have been his major. During his senior year at Hampton, he swept the Hampton Players Awards, earning Best Actor for his role in Raisin, Most Versatile Performer, and Outstanding Hampton Player.

After graduation, he spent a year as a Youth and Family Counselor before setting off on his performing arts journey. He has since been blessed to grace the stages of Broadway, television, and film — including a Helen Hayes nomination for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Resident Musical for his role in Torn From the Headlines.

Most recently, D’Monroe won Best Narrative Short at the LA Indie Shorts Festival for his lead role in Windward Spirits: Tides of Hope, with the film also earning nominations for Best Fantasy Short and Best Cast Ensemble.
